tHe Spring Shopping Mall has opened its doors to all shoppers to experience Oktoberfest à la Borneo from 13th October to 22nd October, 5PM to 11PM daily at the Alfresco.
tHe Spring has collaborated with Borneo Oktoberfest and GE Sausages to integrate two cultures, the Bavarian and the Sarawakian, into one event by showcasing not only the German delicacies and beers but the Sarawakian culture of getting together with colleagues, clients, friends and most importantly, family to enjoy the unique Oktoberfest atmosphere which celebrates good food, fantastic music and great company!
The mall’s Alfresco has once again transformed into a food hall equipped with picnic tables, beautiful draped ceilings and food stalls. Hungry revellers are welcomed to tuck into classic dishes like Flammkuchen (German Pizza), Thuringian Rostbraetel (German Style Pork Chop), German Pork Knuckle and Pretzels. In the efforts to include all Sarawakians to revel in tHe Spring’s Oktoberfest celebrations, the mall have prepared a “non-pork” section which serves muslim-friendly menu such as beef burgers, grilled chicken, cold-pressed fruit juices and more.
Pulling out the stops for this 10-day Oktoberfest celebration, shoppers are treated to live music daily from 8.30PM onwards as they chow down on their Oktoberfest grubs while being served by waitresses decked out in the traditional Dirndl dresses. The musical talents set to perform for tHe Spring’s Oktoberfest include Pete Kallang, Chien Ng, Mozaik and Atas Pokok, to name a few.
